I had been told that raccoons attack and kill cats, so I was worried one morning when I saw from my kitchen window that my neighbor's cat was hiding in a flowerbed alongside the house, and a raccoon was a few feet away looking for bird seed fallen from a nearby bird feeder. The cat stood up and showed signs of wanting to leave, and the raccoon turned its back and sat still until the cat had gone. Peaceful kingdom!
