They also have many kinds of pacemakers.
It's always scary when they say "Your heart ...", but both my parents had multiple heart problems and Dad lived to 94, Mom to her late 80's. Dad had a quadruple cardiac bypass around age 90 where they found he he had 3 arteries blocked 100% and one blocked 90%. He was walking the very DAY after surgery and perked up quickly after that.
I think that docs DO have a lot of things they do about cardiac problems, and have good success rates.
