I'm in Dakota Co, the process there was to submit an application form, have an interview, than take classes at the U, they used to alternate seasons. First year it's 50 hrs vol, then 25 per year after that.
Right now there is approx 140 members in my former group
Great instruction, you meet once a month where there is typically a great speaker
You do not have to be a horticulturist, just a love of gardening and a willingness to learn.
Give them a call and talk to them to see if it meets your expectation
Other counties may be slightly different

Thanks! I kinda sunk a bit at being required to take classes at the U... Unfortunately, feeding my kids and paying my mortgage takes priority. It would be great to get into that some day though!
