I give each one enough distilled water each morning to slightly drain through. Then I pour the excess back into a clean jug for the next day, I'm not used to having to manage pure water so carefully.
It is an enlightening experience and one I would recommend to anyone used to living off tap water. I mean, seriously, how carefully do most of us think about water in very discrete amounts? Some people have to.
The good news is that the new peat and perlite mix (slow to get soaked) is finally thoroughly wetted and I can just give them the daily dose. I kept moving the pots to bowls the pots barely fit into and re-pouring the excess into them again and again.
They BETTER be happy.
And they are sure catching a lot of flies on their own!
