For allergies some beekeeping books say eating 1 tablespoon a day will incolulate you to the local pollen. That's because honey has some pollen grains mixed in with the nectar.
Also, any honey produced within a 50 mile radius of you or any produced from an area with the same type of vegetation will help with allergies.

Honey bees out foraging usually won't sting as long as you don't bother them. They can be aggressive during early spring and autumn because they have babies to feed in spring and need to store up winter supplies in autumn.
