RpR,
I'm glad the severe storms missed you. I've been lucky too.
I found two more beds with quackgrass and I feel like crying. I hear Poast is effective and won't kill flowers but is quite pricey. My neighbors use it. I haven't looked into it yet.
"Hurt the chickweed'' That cracked me UP!

Mac,
Love it that you can give away the cukes! Try this recipe.

Freezer Cucumbers

12 c cucumbers sliced thin
1 green pepper diced
2 onions sliced and ringed
4 T. pickling salt
1/2 c water
2 c vinegar
3 c sugar.
Place veggies in a large bowl and add salt. Let it set 4 hours, stirring occasionally. Bring the sugar, water and vinegar to a boil for 5 minutes to make a syrup. Let cool. Rinse the veggies and drain well. Pour the syrup over them and stir till coated. Pack in freezer containers and freeze.

They stay fairly crisp and taste like bread and butter pickles.

Jim,
You have really neat daylilies and I love the colors! Crayon is a neat name.

Ginny,
The water looks so refreshing!
You ladies are beautiful!

It's cooled down a lot. I better be working outside today.
