Ginger, I know how you feel. Hobe Sound is that way. We call it the hole over Hobe Sound. On a continual basis it will rain everywhere around Hobe Sound ---- literally encircled by rain & yet you look up at the sky & there's a clear hole over H.S. Even watch the radar & a giant storm is heading straight for it & then it splits around the town & rejoins on the other side. That's why the govt. way back in the 40's put the radar station there. It was like living in a desert.
