The best place to grow orchids in Florida is also the densest and most prolific orchid area in the United States: the Redland. It's south of Miami and north and west of Homestead. Unlike Miami, it enjoys favorable day to night shifts in temperature. Land prices have steadily increased, but it remains affordable to buy acreage. And, as an original pre-canal pioneer area, much of it is on land well above sea level.
