I just saw the coolest thing! I came home from work & it's been cloudy all day so there are still a few purslane blooms open in the more shadowed spots. I saw a flitter of movement & sure enough, it was the hummingbird that I've heard buzzing by me lately, but I hadn't gotten a look at it yet. I finally got a very good look at it a few minutes ago as it went from bloom to bloom on my purslane plants, flew over to a 4'o'clock, then back to visit every purslane bloom again - then on the the Zinnias out front. I don't know what it must have looked like, me sitting there in the car, leaned forward, squinting to see better, probably with my mouth hanging open, motionless for at least 8-10 minutes.

Wow, that makes it all worthwhile, way beyond my enjoyment of looking at the plants.
The golden rule: Do to others only that which you would have done to you.

The best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago. The 2nd best time is now. (-Unknown)
