Life is "mind over matter". If I d
NOW----I have some questions about what to do with my Amaryllis bulbs which have
been potted and outside all summer long. NOT planted in the ground!--but in pots and kept
in semi-shaded areas...like under plant tables--under a shrub, etc.

I did not follow my usual regiment of putting them in the basement to go dormant
and then bringing them all back "to life" when they start to show leaf growth.

They have grown healthy, strong leaves and look OK. BUT!!! At some point--I have to stop
this outdoors pampering thing and let them go dormant for real. Like--Down the cool shop
and dry until all the leaves yellow and fall off. THEN--keeping my eyes on the bulbs to see when/if they show growth od leaves and/or signs of the bulb "waking up". THEN--cutting the top of the bulb's neck back down level and waiting to see signs of the bloom-to-be growth
of the bulb appearing and THEN taking my dormant bulbs upstairs, watering them, and putting them in brighter light to see the actual blooms forming and emerging.
**************************************************************************

Why did I do all this planting outside in pots? Because Jill was always talking about planting
her Amaryllis bulbs outside and then digging them back up in time for blooming.
Is this about right???? Not sure....I think Jill also plants new bulbs every other year?
Yes? No?
Half of all my Amaryllis bulbs are from ages ago......like 2006 or 2007.
They still TAKE A SNOOZE--THEN grow and bloom and dazzle me every year.
Like-THE SAME BULBS--IN THE SAME POTS!.!!! i CANNOT BELIEVE IT!
