pokeweed

birds eat the berries and drop them everywhere , especially along fence lines , bushes and trees

Pokeweed (Phytolacca americana)

if you are trying to get rid of them , they can grow large tubers underground that will most likely need to be dug up ,
pulling the up or breaking them off at the soil is usually just a temporary fix , they most likely will keep growing back.
and if you dig them up , birds usually just plant more in other spots if not the same.
A pint can't hold a quart , If it is holding a pint it is doing the best that it can.
and it is written ,
