As I wrote earlier my wife's aunt "ordered" a large amount of semps for her new garden in the Italian dolomites. We arrived on Sunday with 300+ semp in a cardboard box, including about 220 of last year's seedlings and a large number of well rooted NOID offspring.
The actual project they were meant for was this rather small dry wall, left and right of her gas connection box, and I tucked in as many of my seedlings as I could.
Having about half the semps left I decided to add a semp rockery out of reclaimed rock and pebbles we had taken out the day before when preparing the ground for her future front lawn. I finally added a "fence" made from sliced fire wood to avoid the grid from spreading all over the place. All DIY at no costs using only local materials, but the final result resembles a typical mountain landscape.
Now there are just about a 100 unrooted rosettes left waiting for next spring to be planted, when they've grown roots (They're expecting the first snow mid of October up here).
