I'd probably just grow them in a well drained pot overwintered dry in the basement. They're reputed to be pretty 'tough'. In Texas bulbs have been noted where a homestead a/o school used to be going back a 100 years plus.
When dormant they need to be dry; when in active growth they need a fair amount of water. Though the season of bloom is different, they share many characteristics of their relative, Hippeastrum (Amaryillis). At least that's my thoughts on them.
You might seek advise from Brent and Becky's, they used to sell them; also, Old House Gardens (still sell them).
