"Free spending twin"? Don't you smile when you hear people after an Orchid show mentioning that they were good, that didn't buy anything. I would worry that my twin might need a check up.... Unfortunately my twin loves other plant groups too....But, at least I have learned through the years which Orchids might do well for me and which ones are annuals in my hands. ....I stay away from Masdevallias for sure, no matter how adorable!
