Good morning Carol,

From what I've read, It is supposedly rare. The green blades are wider at the base. The picture I have, is of mine, a small plant, so the blades don't look that big yet, look like a normal spider plant. But one thing I do notice is, the pups are almost white with a dark green strip just on the edges of the leaves. As the plant gets older, the inner blade on the plants is a somewhat yellow/green, not quite variegated look. Here is a picture of my plant and it's babies, again, very young so full characteristics of the older plants is not showing up yet. But the pups definitely show the characteristics of the Hawaiian Spider Plant. Also this is under my green fiberglass roof, so everything appears greener than it is. The babies are almost snow white with that green stripe on edges of leave. Again, they darken as they get older. This will do quite well growing on my patio in the back yard. I've grown one before, but it was destroyed by a monsoon storm several years ago. Finally found this one and ordered it. My old one, on very chilly nuts the hummers would land in the center of it to stay warm. It was probably 3 feet in diameter, HUGE!
