There are so many stories just like the one above. The link I sent a couple days ago are entire neighborhoods where the water washed their homes off their piers. They have to rebuild. There are newborn babies in the neighbor hood and a one on the way. They sleep in tents so they can watch for looting.
Here is the link I posted. It is not Go Fund me who take 15% of whatever you donate. This is his email. You can write to him to et the latest update. But also use this email to donate through PayPal. I have met Justin. Stand up guy, family man and former Army (I think??) I gave him some small appliances, microwave, toaster oven coffeemaker etc., on Wednesday.. They have them in storage so as soon as the homes are livable again, they can at least start out these poor folks with something to cook with. A Corporation is donating mini fridges, too. They are bringing these folks full circle the best they can. Remember that big fan I inherited back in June? They are coming back for it on Monday. I felt someone else could have better use of it in this 90 degree heat than my greenhouse. (I'll get another one some day)
They have just returned with a collection of furniture donated in Alabama and dry wall from North Carolina. They raised $847 to get the big trailer and gas to bring it back. Very soon, lumber will be needed to rebuild the lives in this neighborhood. I've been there. I've seen it. It is very, very sad.
Direct link to a local Kingwood group attempting to save the community of Dogwood Acres that received 2 ft of water ABOVE the roof tops. Literally 8 blocks away from me. Some houses that sit on piers, were washed off their piers and will have to be rebuilt. Paypal :
