We made the big move: 1000 miles south...and the homestead is up for sale. Temps here are still H.O.T. but they should start to turn by the end of the month. Sugar Cane harvest is underway and I have to re-learn how to miss cane trucks that stop suddenly without warning....

We've downsized the house and the acreage too - now a little less than an acre. I found it hysterical riding the mower to cut the grass. Our new little town says I can have 6 hens, no roosters. I wonder if they know about the really energetic rooster one street over....he beats dawn by an hour, lol.

I sure do miss the farm....left pears and apples on the trees and am depending on good neighbors to keep their eye out. Big change. But this winter I will not be shoveling snow. period. Hurray!
