Am I understanding this correctly that when they break dormancy in the spring they'll send up blooms before they send out leaves?

Mine are 5 years old now and still no sign of flowers...and I fertilized this summer and put them in full sun.

If I don't let them go dormant could I still see blooms in the winter? in the house?
