I'm sure that is a cucumber beetle. It is (as much as I know) harmless to irises. And my cucumbers have been gone for about a month. Something I noted in the Old Farmer's Almanac is this, "Cucumber beetles hold another threat too: They can carry bacterial diseases and viruses from plant to plant, such as bacterial wilt and mosaic virus." Unquote; That is likely true with other insects too. It is well worth watching. Except for this one I haven't seen one since. Crossing Fingers!
