Carol - some of the older iris are not as well represented in the database. There are lots of factors for that I am sure, but I think one is that older iris are often harder to find for sale. Vendors only have so much room, and to make room for the newer introductions they often have to stop selling some of the older varieties. Since those varieties don't then show up in catalogs and such I think people just forget about buying them. Fortunately there are some vendors, like Blue J, that still carry many older varieties so people like you, who wish to collect some blue bearded iris, have a place to find them. And then hopefully add some more pictures to the database.
