Many plant tags no longer have the latin names. And it has been my recent experience that in big box stores or even local nurseries the employees often have no clue what you're talking about when you ask for it by the latin name. And forget about the cultivar.
Heck, these days the individual pots don't even have tags in them or on them. And don't you just love it when you go to get bedding plants (annuals) & the pot has a label glued on it that says ---- ANNUAL.
