I would wait for a confirmation on the exact variety, but the purple potato vine isn't typically quite as bright. Given how deep the reds are and how bright the greens are in this photo, the colors may have been slightly enhanced or manipulated in the photo.

I did submit a few photos in various categories, though none as brilliant as the winners. There were so many great photos this year, like the one above. There are many talented people here at NGA.
