The base consists of four 2" thick by 10" wide by eight feet long Douglas fir boards. The boards rest on a total of nine saw horses.

I originally planned to do an article but yes, new articles by members are not accepted. They now have Garden Ideas but I see that as for shorter less involved ideas. I did a lot of photo documenting as I constructed it.

I was wrong about more yellow iris photos in this thread. They are on my computer and here they are:
