My poor neighbors. It started snowing in earnest this morning around 5:30a....big, wet, fat flakes. None stuck to the roadway but they did stick to the ground and cars and grills and plants. Uncut cane fields looked like a strange landscape...frozen and bent.

The 2 teenage brothers across the street made a fairly impressive snowman which ended up in a snowball fight - whooping and hollering. they were the only neighbors who were 'glad' we brought the snow with us. Cold and dry as a bone at the farm in NW Illinois.

All in all we got 3 inches in our area - and it still hasn't melted away...tonight ought to be wild on the expressway as the sloppy snow freezes. Stay safe.
