tx_flower_child said:Welcome, Wintermoor. Glad you found us. Hang around.
I have 2 questions that I hope you'll answer. I know I could google one of them but I know how easy it would be for you to just tell me. So, what is that sweet little bird in your hand? And how'd you get it to stay there?
I'm going to toss you a couple of acorns in anticipation of your answers. And because acorns can come in handy from time to time as you will probably see.
Thank you for the welcome tx.
The bird in my hand is a Coal Tit. and I have lots of them in the garden.
I wish I could tell you that I was a bird whisperer and had a gift for attracting them, but alas I don't. The bird flew into a window and was stunned on the ground so I had to beetle out as quick as possible before our dog got round there.
The birds fly into the windows quite often and so when neither I, nor she-who-must-be-obeyed, is at home, the dog has an extra snack.
Here's a photo of another one, a Bullfinch Hen which achieved the same feat a couple of weeks ago.
When they are stunned we keep them warm until they can fly and they just fly off without so much as a by-your-leave.
Here is another one of the Coal tit.
Thank you very much for the acorns, I'm still trying to work out how to 'earn' them, but I'll pick it up soon enough.
