Taking no chances with this cold/flu. There's a memorial today for a friend who recently died from pneumonia, brought on by the flu.

Sorry about your friend, Jan.
Influenza indirectly resulted in my father's death last year.
Not enough people know about Tamiflu (Oseltamivir), Rx. It can be taken for prevention during influenza A or B exposure, or for treatment if started within 48 hours of the onset of symptoms. It is expensive (I've heard $80 to $130 per course), but so are funerals.
A natural remedy that may be effective is the homeopathic Oscillococcinum. It is extracted from duck liver. New strains of influenza are frequently imported from the bird population.Tiny quantities of dead flu virus in the duck livers can set the body's immune system on high alert against influenza.
I've been alternating between the 2. So far, so good.
Supposedly only 10% of the influenza going around right now is covered by this year's vaccines. From what I'm seeing, that's optimistic. Thumbs down
