Tom.. I'm not sure if there siblings no info on any of the pictures shown other then a couple I asked about..
Liz.. I don't have seedling numbers so no way of checking that but (F) reminded me of a upgraded (Engagement Ring) if you grew that and liked it this one is the improved form bigger flower and more ruffles
from what I remember though it was a newer seedling meaning I don't remember seeing a lot of it but the other one that was Popular (A) there was quite a bit of it in multiple locations.
Deb.. I will clarify in the spring for you
older cameras make them look different especially when there taken in bright sunlight or on a cloudy day. I stopped trying to identify seedlings without a tag because they can be really close in color to a sib with only the slightest detail being different and I have made the mistake of adding pictures to the database and finding out later when I get a email that I was wrong
Les.. Thank You for the awesome descriptions
I feel the same about (N) looking forward to that one it is very different.
Greg.. I would have a hard time getting rid of any of them too very good group of Bands..
Leon..
Thanks we have the same problem is where do you stop I liked them all too..
Jan.. That's what makes them special is they all talk to us in different ways
you guys have surprised me over the years with some of mine I thought nobody will like the coloring of this one and I'm wrong.. That's what makes looking at all these fun most of these will never make the market or be seen but just maybe we can influence 1 or 2 of them.
Polly..
Brain numbness from looking at seedling pictures is a good thing !!
Tim.. Thank You again for the kind words and your right about the seedlings Joe's work they are really good.. I am particular to Joe's plants the good majority have always done well for me it's almost like they explode with growth once they get a little cold
we have been really pleased with the seedlings coming from his lines. I have for years imported plants from Barry as well and had very good luck with them but I also planted anything coming from a warmer climate like Joe's or Barry's in a protected area of the yard to acclimate them through the 1st winter after that they were moved around into the berms with everything else and most did fine.
I think a lot of the people we see on the Facebook sites complaining are already growing these right on the edge of where anything will do well (Northen Canada) and the deep south. If you asked the other group that claimed to have so many problems with them how many bought them directly from the source that may anwser some questions of while they do poorly
I'm sure most of them bought from the discount websites and that may be part of the problem.. The old saying you get what you pay for applies to Iris as well
as you know.
I'm hoping in the future I will be able to help with furthering those lines
we sure like the results of putting Joe's and Barry's plants together
Here is a link from a couple years ago before we moved
The thread "Bloom Season 2015/2016" in
Irises forum it has more of my own seedling pictures in it some are still here others gone from last years disaster but shows what I was working on.
