I might add that I use it on my dog too & really don't have to worry when she licks the place afterward. Sometimes she'll step on something, a thorn or such, that may go up in the "frog" of her paw --- I take a cosmetic round & soak it with witch hazel & it tucks nicely into the frog. Cools & reduces the swelling of her pads.
