I am planning a succulent area in my front yard. This is by my front windows. I currently have plumeria there but they do not thrive there because it has a northern exposure, so this was the area designated.
The map in the picture is pretty much to scale: the length by the front window is 9 yards (represented by 9 inches), along the front door path is 7 yards, there is a straight part of 2 yards by my driveway and then a slightly curved line where a shell path is that leads to the back. I will use something to demarcate the edges (like maybe upright standing flagstones - only sticking up about 3 inches from the ground) which will also separate the two coverings. To contrast with the white shell I was thinking a grey granite covering for the area, or possibly pebbles.
The circles represent plants I would like to keep there. The front window has two big Pachypodium groupings (about 2-3 ft in diameter, and now getting on for 10 ft tall), and next to that by the front path is a Yucca elephantipes which now is about 9 ft tall. By the driveway is the one plumeria I think I might keep there.

I plan to place a large boulder or two in the area (prob. feather rock so I can MOVE them).

I would welcome your input. I am mostly in a quandary as to what to do with the space right in front of the windows, Making this extra problematic is the fact that water from the roof cascades there (maybe we should finally put up gutters?).

I have a number of succulents and cacti in pots that I can use but also appreciate suggestions for other plants.
