Jo Ann this is what I use in early spring (April) when I can work the soil. It was once recommended by one of the famous Iris growers on the west coast. I have used it for several years, but others might have a different suggestion. I suggest any fertilizer you might use choose one with low nitrogen content. (The first number 6-6-6, etc.)
