Our NGA database shows it as Wax Plant (Hoya verticillata) with H. acuta as a synonym. CoL shows the reverse with Hoya acuta as the accepted name and H. verticillata being the synonym. http://www.catalogueoflife.org...

My database photos are of a plant (from a cutting that I received from a reputable Hoya nursery in Australia in 2008, labeled H. acuta.) The nursery owner, now deceased, was a scientist and Hoya expert so I kept my plant with it's original label of Hoya acuta.

There's been controversy over recent years, regarding the correct name of this particular Hoya, with some saying it is H. acuta, while others are adamant that the correct name is H. verticillata; so which is correct? Did we at one point have it in our database as H. acuta but then change the name to H. verticillata? And, if our database goes by what the CoL shows, shouldn't it be changed back to H. acuta?
