A family friend who has a place at the beach in NC plants yucca to anchor the sand dunes (they send roots down to China, or nearly). I don't know the variety, but it's always fun to see those tall blooms! Since they help keep his boardwalk (and house, even) in place, I'm sure they are on his top 10 list.

Little voice in the back of my head seems to think there's a very specific moth pollinator for yuccas. Yep, googled & found a nice (and short) article about "The Yucca and its Moth" https://prairieecologist.com/2...
