From what I've gathered, Portulaca oleracea has small yellow flowers, except for when it doesn't. Some sources say it can be pink or orange and larger. Well, OK. Some also say that P. oleracea sometimes has a crowned seedpod. All sources seem to agree that Portulaca oleracea is edible.

And Portulaca umbraticola has any color flowers but always has a crown on the seedpod. I have seen it described as edible, too bitter to eat, and mildly toxic.

To confuse matters, pictures of one seem to be used for the other, even on seed packets. So I don't know for sure what I'm growing. I ordered the named cultivar "Toucan" hoping that somebody can confirm definitively what these are.
Keep going!
