I would consider winter sowing.
It makes seed starting easy. I think there is a forum here for winter sowing.
If not, and if this is something you want more info on, I can post a link.

DawnieR said:Hello All! I'm in need of some advice with starting seeds in a mini greenhouse. For the past 5-6 years I have germinated my seeds on my kitchen stove and then moved them into my small, tall mini gh (pictured on the right) to further grow, using small table lamps (I do not have proper grow lights; cannot afford them). The results of which are leggy seedlings. Someone had gotten me a bigger mini greenhouse (pictured on the left), and last Spring I'd set it up in my back yard in Feb or March. I had sown my seeds in plastic cups and set them out in the backyard gh to germinate. That took FOREVER (months) with most of my sowings. I even re-sown seeds 2 & 3 times before they would germinate. This resulted in late germination, which led to a very short growing season in the garden for me. (I'm in Connecticut, Zone 6). This year I need to do something different, since what I have been doing is NOT working. A question I have is, should I germinate my seeds on my stove, like I'd done in previous years, and THEN move them out into the 'big' gh in the back yard in Feb or March? Once seeds are germinated via sitting on my kitchen stove, will they die off if brought outside, into the gh, as soon as they germinate? Any help with my seed starting will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
