Great idea, goldfinch...How do I know?...
I have a mini-yard rake (leaf rake), perhaps it's a child's rake, and I put it on the handle of a push broom. The push broom is seldom used but is the kind that you screw the handle onto the broom part. I put the mini-rake at the opposite end and, with the broom taken off, use it to rake, cultivate between my double-rows of onions and such. Works perfectly!
On the times I use the push broom I just screw it back on and have a handle that does double duty...push broom or rake. I'll see about taking a pic.
