I try to get hardy roses because when the weather turns cold and rainy, I'm not a gardener anymore, LOL! My roses have to sink or swim. I don't mulch after the ground freezes, and they do get the north and west winter winds. A double whammy. I hope for snow cover.

I was suprised when I first found out what the South couldn't grow. I'm envious of what they can, but I think I'll freeze to keep the old favorites like peonies, lilacs and roses.
