Bag Balm works for me when I've gone from cracked to really sore... most of the time my go-to is "Udderly sMOOth," comes in a holstein black/white patterned jar (Walmart is one source). It's a thick white cream that absorbs easily and is not at all greasy. I put it thickly on my feet, like I'm buttering them, and then pull on socks for the night. (My feet get abused possibly more than my hands, because I'm more likely to go without shoes than without gloves in the garden.)
We're all learners, doers, teachers.
