Every time this pops up, I hope some are thinking "Letting go" instead of giving up. For example, letting go of stressing over difficult plants/tasks, and finding an easier way to enjoy gardening.
Right now I'm letting go of a parlor palm that I have enjoyed for some years, but last year it spent the summer just getting back to looking OK, then dries up again over winter. I don't need another big plant, esp one that I would have to fuss with and wait for months again to see it look respectable.
Plant it and they will come.
