Hi all! Several weeks ago I was at a garage sale in town and noticed that the plumeria at that house looked like it had suffered some damage from a hard freeze we'd had. I decided to check mine when I got home and saw that mine no longer looked healthy but I figured it was just freeze damage. Well, now I think it's the dreaded borer beetle. I am heartbroken, as I've nurtured this one through all kinds of calamities, even when my Boxer pulled it out of the ground thinking it was a chew toy and ran around the yard with it! Today I noticed more than several beetles where I had cut it back and checked my neighbors tree, and sure enough, it's all damaged too! Should I cut it to the ground, destroy the branches, and hope for the best? Can I save/salvage anything? The bottom 3 pics are my neighbors tree.
