I'm surprised this was 2017. I am asking myself the same question now. It seems like they need warmth to get started. Once a few leaves come up, and they have good light, they seem to keep on going. I have three 5 inch pots and a couple 3 inch pots- the larger pots seem much more full and happy- especially the dark purple leafed ones.
Plant it and they will come.
