Just found this thread. My losses are usually related to "brain-dead" divisions. I get mixed up and end up with two clumps of one variety and none of another. However this September I bought a couple of M. D. Faith's Tomato Bisque. I know that at least one rhizome had disappeared by winter. I still have hope for the rest.

I noticed that several folks were worried about deer in the garden. I garden in my front yard where deer and rabbits have free rein. Last summer I had success with sprinkling chunks of Irish spring soap around my garden. It was much more successful than the deer repellents sold at the nursery, particularly as it didn't have to be replaced after every rain. For the first time in years I was able to enjoy my garden phlox, my roses and my hostas.
