Please check out all our Orchid Forums pertaining to Phalaenopsis orchids. This is what she is and as a Phalaenopsis she does not need any direct sun. Just a bright window will suffice.
But honestly she looks to be pretty healthy! It is just in need of re-potting! Once you let it go, the media breaks down and holds too much moisture and the roots suffer. By putting into new media every 2 years, she will do better. Once a lot of the roots become exposed, proper watering becomes more difficult. They like to be watered well, approach dryness, and then get watered again without ever going dry!
Repot her into a new container or even the same one but use a pot that is like Goldilocks, not too small and not too big!
Pot according to the size of the healthy root system. They respond very quickly when they are re-potted and put out new roots, the roots take up water and she'll perk right up!
A big box store like Lowe's or Home Depot carries a bark mix for Phalaenopsis, it works well. Do not use sphagnum moss or mount this plant because as a beginning orchid grower you are liable to have more trouble.
Meanwhile keep us updated as to her/your progress and welcome to the Orchid Forums. More opinions will be forthcoming!
