I asked Mt. Cuba's Librarian and Archivist, Liz Fite ([email protected]), about AIS registration for 'Purple Flame' and received the following reply:

"We successfully registered 'Purple Flame' with the AIS back in August of 2017. However, it's not available commercially yet. We're in the process of working with the local nurseries to make it available to the general public and we're hoping that will happen within the next two years or so."

So I am confused as to why you did not find it to be registered.
