Vinegar folks, vinegar! White is cheapest but any kind will do; douse the stings with vinegar ASAP, the sooner the better & keep it wet with vinegar for at least a minute, 2 or 3 is better. The acid in the vinegar destroys the protein in the venom and the protein in the venom is what causes the nasty reactions such as pain, swelling, itching.
