Once again the time to start my own seeds has flown by; so I'll be shopping the local garden centers and farm stands to buy some small plants. For our New England growing season, which could be either too wet or too dry, I've found that Rutgers does very well for me. It produces medium-sized fruits that seldom crack, despite weather variations. Hopefully I can find Rutgers plants again this year. I'll also want some sort of Roma tomato, and also something with larger fruits, such as a Beefsteak type, and maybe even Mortgage Lifter. One or two plants of a cherry tomato will round out my selections. Depending on what I find, some may be new selections or not.
