Dirt, I think some members with extensive collections don't want to monopolize the Blooms 2018 thread, and keeping a separate thread helps them keep track of referencing photos of certain varieties in the future. Some members start a thread for the state they live in and others in that state will contribute. Last year I posted a few on Jane's Kentucky Blooms thread, but I mostly post on the Blooms 2018 thread because my collection isn't that large...well, not yet
