Joanna, so glad you're peonies are up and multiplying nicely!

I'm noticing that several of mine that produced first year blooms last spring don't look like they're going to bloom this year. The growth looks strong and most have more stems. However those that did not have first year blooms look like they are going to bloom this year. This makes me wonder if disbudding first year plants would be wise? I find that so darn difficult! I think I've seen that some contributors here practice removing first year buds.
