Evelyn-
Don't ever stop trying. Do only what is possible each day, but most of all enjoy what you are doing at the time. Every little bit here and there adds up to success!! When I was a much younger man I met a wonderful lady who grew irises well into her late 70's or 80's. She ran an iris venture with her aging husband and I often visited them at bloom time. It wasn't necessarily the farmstead they ran or how they managed it. It was their companionship & friendship that made an eternal, lasting impression on me. Their home was far from luxurious, and the iris fields sometimes were over-run with weeds and rotting rhizomes. I considered them lifelong friends by their simple, down to earth lifestyle and hospitality, and their spirit of hard work. They considered age just another 'problem'.
It will become necessary for all of us to eventually "slow down" and take it easy. But in the meanwhile I will likely "keep on keeping on". My intentions are to encourage; not to depress you. I will never give up my gardens for the recliner. Cheers!
