I take my irises up, hose off most of the dirt, cut off the yuk and drop them rhizome down into a five gallon bucket that is half full of my water/bleach mixture. After a row is complete, and my bucket is getting comfortably crowded, i take them out, hose them off to remove any softened earth and repeat with a fresh bucket of water/bleach. I can let them sit in the water for 20/30 minutes at this point before i take them out. I do not rinse the last soak but take them out, trim the leaves and spread them out in a shady area to air dry and callous off. After three or four days i inspect them closely and get ready to replant. Smiling
Thro' all the tumult and the strife I hear the music ringing; It finds an echo in my soul— How can I keep from singing?
