Thank you Pam & Stephanie!
As to the 5 acres.... those big old trees are going to stay --- every single one of them! We need to have some branches big as tree trunks cut off one of the largest Live Oaks for both the health of the tree as well as to expand the view. Those branches are literally dipping down to within a few inches of the ground & reach out about 45' from the tree trunk. I will do my darndest to turn the pasture grass into wildflower meadows. I won't be adding many other trees -- couple 3 Magnolias for no southern home is complete without a few. Plantings of flowers immediately around the house. The property is telling me what to do with it & it's saying not to domesticate it too much. Wild & natural is the way to go. Nature has set the tone & I couldn't possibly improve upon that which has already been determined.
I am a strong believer in the simple fact is that what matters in this life is how we treat others. I think that's what living is all about. Not what I've done in my life but how I've treated others. ~~ Sharon Brown
